A  Free Cryptocurrency faucet is generally a website, or in some cases a section of a website where visitors  can collect cryptocurrency coins or fractions of a coin at regular intervals. Most cases I have personally seen have some type of test to see if you are a human and not an automated bot created by a person. These tests are simple, some I seen are super simple math questions such as 1+3 =, some are just asking you to pick which pictures have certain objects in it. An example of this would be a 3 x 3 grids of pictures asking you to pick all the pictures that contain images of cats.

Why do people give away Free Cryptocurrency

Faucets

  • Like you may have guessed they not trying to go broke, by giving away all their money.
  • A lot of the faucets I see have some kind of advertising.
  • Some have just simple text links or banners, some have a video playing in the background.
  • The Idea is quite simple really.
  • A company wants to get some exposure to their product
  • They pay to have their ad of their product on the faucet page.

What is in it for the Faucet Owner?

The website owner then uses part of the advertising cost to supply the faucet with the currency. Hence free cryptocurrency.

Does this really effect you?

In my experience this has very little impact on the person using the faucet. I not saying this form of advertising doesn’t work. Just mean that the user experience of using the faucet is not really effected at all by back ground advertising.

Free Cryptocurrency

Some the faucets also have competitions

The most common type of competition that I see, are in the form of gambling the coins you have gained. Other forms of competition I have seen are referral competitions. Other than referral competitions.

My Experience with a lot of these competitions

  • In my experience my greed leads me to losing all the coins I have earned.
  • Once again this is just my experience
  • Guess you have to remember this is free cryptocurrency
  • Many times I have multiplied my coins, so it does work.
  • I guess the trick to gambling is to know when to stop.

After Collecting the minimum withdrawal amount what do I do?

  • What I suggest is you move them to an electronic wallet.
  • I personally use Exchanges such as Crex24, Coinspot and BitForex.
  • Crex24 by the way has a faucet of its own on its exchange where they have different coins listed at different times so you can increase your wealth on the exchange themselves.
  • After moving your Cryptocurrency to an exchange you have a couple options.

What Options Do I have After I move my coins to an Exchange

  • Exchange them for another Cryptocurrency (Maybe you seen some articles and think a particular coin may increase in value a lot faster than the coin you have collected.)
  • You can also hold onto the coins in the hope that they will increase in value. An example of past returns, in 2017 at the beginning of the year a bitcoin was worth approx $1000 US Dollars, by the end of the year that same coin was worth $20 000 US Dollars. (Bear in mind this can also be a bad decision, in 2018 Bitcoin dropped in price to Under $5000 US Dollars in mid November 2018)
  • You can of course just cash out in your local currency. It normally takes 1-2 days for the money to be transferred into your bank account.

  1. Great theme you’ve got here. On faucets, I think it takes a lot of time to make money from them. It demands a lot of commitment on anyone who wants to choose this path to earn cryptocurrencies. We have to understand that digital currencies are not different from the money we know. In essence to make money you must render a service to people.
I have learned that making a lot of referrals to faucets can actually make people money. This I think this website is doing a great job in its quest of educating people about faucets.

    1. Thank you for your kind comments,
I fully agree with you on all of your points.
I like the faucets myself as they a little bit of fun.
And well if you get lucky you can win some nice pocket money
in the short term. I am pretty bullish when it comes to
cryptocurrency, not all coins but long term the
block chain technology has a pretty secure place in the
modern world. So what is a little bit today could actually
be worth a tonne of money in 5 years time.
      Have an awesome day.
